Since 2024, the Foundation has launched a number of dedicated projects with schools in the province of Prato, involving pupils with different intellectual and motor disabilities.

The Centre has offered a wide range of activities, from caring for the horses to learning how to mount and dismount safely, alongside workshop-based activities with a playful and recreational purpose.

The path in some significant examples

01

First visit to our center

A day of discovery and welcome dedicated to the pupils: a visit to the stables, an introduction to the horses, and a first encounter with the ponies. Through guided activities, games, and moments of sharing, the children gradually overcome their initial shyness, learning to care for the animals and to recognise new emotions and sensations.

03

Experiences in the stable and on the saddle

A programme rich in practical and creative activities: hands-on workshops designed to stimulate concentration and fine motor skills, alongside horse care and stable maintenance, encouraging a sense of responsibility and collaboration.

Through a gradual approach and direct contact with the animal, pupils experience their first moments in the saddle, discovering calm, confidence, and a deep sense of achievement.

05

Final days at the center

In the final stages of the project, the children become increasingly independent in caring for the horses and taking part in stable activities, approaching the exercises with confidence and affection for their equine companions.

During the creative workshops, they make T-shirts and bracelets as gifts for the horses, as gestures of tenderness and gratitude. The final meeting, with cuddles, certificates, and shared memories, marks a moving conclusion to a journey of growth, discovery, and genuine friendship.

02

Getting to know the horse

A morning devoted to observing and learning about horses: their morphology, body structure, and the basic safety rules for approaching and handling them. Through direct contact and guided activities, pupils learn to identify the different parts of the horse’s body, use grooming tools, and overcome initial fears, developing confidence and awareness.

04

Creative workshops and activities in the arena

Days at the Centre alternate between hands-on activities and direct contact with the horses. Through collage, painting, and small craft projects, the children give free rein to their imagination, while cleaning the stables and caring for the animals encourages order, patience, and responsibility.

In the arena, lessons become games of balance, trust, and mutual understanding: reins, circles, and simple exercises guide the encounter between horse and rider. Every step forward, however small, becomes a shared achievement.
