Our Equine-Assisted Interventions

Our assisted activities are based on interaction with horses: highly sensitive and adaptable animals that can support people with physical, cognitive, and social disabilities.
Through carefully guided human-animal interaction, these activities stimulate both motor and cognitive skills, contributing to improvements in coordination, balance, strength, flexibility, language, communication, socialisation, and self-esteem.

Equestrian Education
A continuous program designed to support both those approaching horseback riding for the first time and those with equestrian experience. The year-round program combines practical training with in-depth theoretical knowledge, promoting concentration, independence, and stress management.
Ample time is dedicated to caring for horses and equipment, strengthening a sense of responsibility and attention to animal welfare. Participants can consolidate their passion and hone their skills in a stimulating and educational environment.
What are animal-assisted interventions?
According to ministerial guidelines, Animal-Assisted Interventions — or AAIs — comprise a broad range of projects aimed at maintaining or improving people’s physical, mental, and social health and well-being through positive interaction with animals.
Based on the human-animal relationship and carried out with full respect for animal welfare, these interventions are led by trained and qualified professionals. They may have therapeutic, educational, recreational, or social purposes.

AAA
Animal-Assisted Activities are interventions with recreational and social purposes, designed to improve quality of life and to promote the value of human-animal interaction within the community, for the mutual well-being of both people and animals.
The professionals involved include an AAI veterinarian, an animal handler, and an activity manager.

AAE
Animal-Assisted Education consists of educational interventions designed to promote, activate, and support each person’s resources, potential for growth, individual development, relationships, and social inclusion.
These interventions may also take place in groups and can help promote individual well-being within everyday living environments.
The professionals involved include an AAI veterinarian, an animal handler, a project manager, and an intervention coordinator.

AAT
Animal-Assisted Therapy consists of personalised therapeutic interventions tailored to each patient. These interventions are aimed at treating physical, neuro- and psychomotor, sensory, mental, cognitive, emotional, affective, and relational disorders.
They work in synergy with traditional medical therapies and are prescribed by a physician. Equine rehabilitation is a form of Animal-Assisted Therapy involving the horse.
The professionals involved include an AAI veterinarian, an animal handler, a project manager, and an intervention coordinator.
Anyone can benefit from Animal-Assisted Interventions. When properly structured, the relationship with an animal can itself become a source of benefit for both the individual and society.
Animal-Assisted Activities are open to anyone wishing to learn about animals through a respectful and engaging encounter capable of awakening emotions and sensations.
Educational and assisted activities are intended for all those who may benefit from an educational or therapeutic pathway in which the relationship with the animal can help facilitate the achievement of specific objectives.
