A journey that starts from afar...

Foundation

On 17 December 2009, the Fabrizio Moretti Foundation was established and registered on 17 December at the Register of Legal Persons at the Prefecture - Territorial Office of the Government of Prato under no. 102.

The design phase of the centre began under the supervision of architect Vincenzo Palumbo and engineer Lorenzo Milani.

2015

The first auction

in New York

Fabrizio Moretti organised an auction at Sotheby's auction house in January, with part of the proceeds going towards the realisation of the centre.

2019

The second auction

in New York

Fabrizio Moretti organised, together with his homonymous Fabrizio Moretti, drummer of the Stokes, a further auction at Sotheby's in New York again to subsidise the construction of the centre.

2020

The Centre is completed

After years of patient work, the centre is finally ready to be opened to the public. Thus began a phase of research and consultation to entrust the management to the operator deemed most suitable. Unfortunately, the stop due to Covid slows down the opening, which has to be postponed.

2023

Opening

In September, the President of the Region of Tuscany Eugenio Giani, together with the Mayor of Prato Matteo Biffoni inaugurated the centre.

In order to pursue the principles of the Foundation, for the two-year period 2023-2025, APS Cavalli e Carrozze was initially identified as the concessionaire, to be succeeded by APS Artax ASD.
